OUR HISTORY

Over 10 Years of Impact, Unity, and Spiritual Revival

Born from a vision received by Bishop Victor Charles OKAFOR upon his arrival in Senegal in 2005, Africana Week was created to promote the unity of African peoples, the consecration of nations to God, and the celebration of African cultural heritage.

The first edition, held on December 10, 2005 under the name Africana Night, brought together twelve African nations along with numerous leaders and faithful of the Body of Christ. After the Africana Day editions in 2006 and 2007, the event evolved in 2008 to become Africana Week Conference, a week-long gathering designed to welcome more participants from across the continent.

For over ten years, Africana Week has brought together delegations from several African countries and different regions of Senegal around times of prayer, teaching, worship, and cultural celebration. Today, it is recognized as a major platform for spiritual revival, unity, and transformation for Africa and its diaspora.
